WINTER

December thru March

When the snow begins to stick and the ski resorts are packed with snow, the mountain lodges are serving up hot cocoa and hot toddy’s, the lake is still and the mountains are calling. Homewood Mountain Resort is a short jaunt down the road with dual mountain entry points, it’s a great place to pick up a season’s ski pass to take full advantage of the proximity without delay.

SPRING / FALL

April & May
October & November

Shhh, this is my favorite time to be at Lake Tahoe. The traffic ceases, the beaches are empty, the restaurants are closed and the locals are enjoying a break between peak seasons. The leaves have begun to change and fall, the air is brisk and the hiking trails are quiet and accessible. A particularly peaceful time to be in the mountains.

SUMMER

June thru September

Time to dust off the swimsuit and bust out the beach chair. Early and late summer are when things are just getting going or slowing closing for the season. The summer menus might not be ready and lifeguards haven’t arrived from college, summer heats up in July & August. Expect vehicle traffic on the roadways and boats on the lake,  bring your sunscreen and your patience as now you’re on Tahoe time.
